i'm trying to update the aesthetics of my blog a bit. it's going to take me a little longer than it would most of you because, let's be honest, i don't really know what i'm doing.
do dogs understand when they are making eye contact with someone/something? i'm at peet's and i'm convinced that the dog outside just looked into my soul. weird.
anyway...
i have a few obsessions right now:
21
duh.
"you and the rest of the world, jordan."
i know that this comes as no surprise because...
she's amazing.
i've been a long time adele fan,
but i never realized just how obsessed i would someday be.
confession: i am completely obsessed with the rachel zoe team.
obsessed.
i've noticed that the team's vocabulary is beginning to seep into my brain, and it's taking over.
here are some of my absolute favorite rz team quotes:
"that is so major."
{duh...had to start here. classic.}
"i do love a morning that starts off with a client looking insane."
"i feel like i have been knifed in the back."
"i feel like a lesbian. i look like i'm supposed to go and dj somewhere...like atlanta."
{brad is definitely my favorite. i wish i could hang out with him everyday.}
i'm honestly not a big tv person, but bravo just gets me. i could watch bravo all day long. sometimes this embarrasses me, but whatevs.
i saw this on another blog {thank you drifter and gypsy for currently rocking my world, btw} and decided it would be fun. you're supposed to tag people, but i don't like for my friends to feel obligated to do things. especially with blogs. it should be completely {YOU}.
however, it is pretty fun. if you'd like to do it, i'd love to see your twist.
With as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in:
1 poem i carry your heart with me {e.e. cummings} here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of a sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that keeps the stars apart i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
1 song or piece of music just as i am just as i am without one plea but that Thy blood was shed for me and that Thou bids me come to Thee, o Lamb of God i come, i come
currently looking for a fun way to celebrate this holiday. i refuse to spend the day alone in my dorm room! several things have crossed my mind, and as i've thought through them, this is what i have come up with...
{road trip}
+
{bridge hunt}
either way, i don't really want to think. :) let me know if you have any other suggestions. no telling how long this mood will last!
today i will be sharing with you a little collection of things that would make me happy right now:
watching a classicChristmas movie
enough said
baseball...love.
nyc ballet workout. still haven't gotten to it, but i definitely renewed it so now i have a whole week.
what i wouldn't give to just jump in the car and go. doesn't even matter where.
and now i will begin thinking about what i'm supposed to be doing:
ps my mom and i just had a progressive phone call. she and my dad were Christmas shopping, and they called me between every store. hee hee that was fun. happy weekending.
tonight i will be seeing the wine country home wreckers versus the sacred city sacrificers, and i pretty much couldn't be more stoked. my heart currently beats for this sport. though i love being a girly girl, and i'm incredibly grateful for the fact that i am sweet and delicate, i sometimes wish that i had it in me to be as fierce as these girls.
i would love to wear heavy eyeliner, have four different colors in my hair, and be completely decorated in tattoos. i would love to come up with a completely B.A. name that wholly represents my personality. and, moment of truth, i would LOVE to feel no guilt knocking other girls out from time to time. :)
however, this is so not me. this must be my rockstar alter-ego. don't worry, her identity is in the works. more to come.
challenge: do something fierce today. and don't feel bad about it.
wishing you a killer saturday. and here's a hello to nate, the man behind the counter at starbucks. definite rockstar...i can tell.
i feel that the backward-ness of the text of this book (in the photo) is the perfect representation of my skill level going into this venture. hopefully as time passes, we will see some progression and mad development. for now, this book is my new bff.
i started piano lessons today. well...i guess you could call them lessons; i've been watching a bunch of 8 minute videos on youtube. lame, i know. it's just that, over the last couple of months, the master pianist inside of me has been screaming for attention. unfortunately, the only song that i know is "lean on me" which i learned in the fourth grade when my mom was still making me take lessons. so, for now the words FACE and Every Good Boy Does Fine are my new favorites. i am going to be reviewing them day and night so that the next time i sit in front of the piano and stare at the norah jones sheet music, it doesn't look like i'm attempting to read a foreign language.
